NEW DELHI: Responding to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s call to the effluent people to help at least nine families during the lockdown period, BJP on Wednesday asked its state presidents to assign at least one crore of its party workers to feed at least five families every day.
Party president JP Nadda had an interaction with national office-bearers of the party through video conference in which he asked for identifying at least one crore party workers, who could take the responsibility to feed five families a day during the lockdown in view of Covid-19 outbreak.
“State party presidents were asked to assign the responsibility immediately so that they start feeding the needy from Thursday onwards,” a senior BJP functionary said.
PM Modi, while interacting with people of his constituency Varanasi, on Wednesday urged people to feed at lest nine families per day for 21 days so that none is left hungry. He said this will be the best way to express devotion during the auspicious period of Navratra.
