China displays military prowess near Taiwan; Sends 17 warplanes & 5 naval ships

China continues its military might around the Taiwan strait ever since US House Speaker Nancy Pelosi visited Taipei in early August brushing aside Beijing’s repeated warnings. Taiwan detected 17 Chinese warplanes and 6 Navy ships near Taiwan on Friday. Taiwan’s ministry of defence said that 8 Chinese fighter jets even crossed the Median line, prompting Taipei to task its combat air patrols, navy ships, and land-based missile systems to respond to Chinese military activity.
