The fourth phase of the Central University Entrance Test (CUET)-Graduation began on Wednesday and around 3.6 lakh candidates are expected to appear in it. CUET is being conducted for admission to undergraduate courses in all central universities.Officials said that 11,000 additional candidates were to appear for the fourth phase examination from August 17 to 20, but for them the examination has been postponed to August 30 so that the examination centers can be adjusted in the city of their choice.
As per the initial plan, the examination for all the stages of CUET-UG was to end by August 20.The exam conducting body National Testing Agency (NTA) later announced that all the phases of the exam would be completed by August 28, but now the schedule has been pushed back and now the exam has been divided into six phases.
University Grants Commission (UGC) Chairman Jagdish Kumar said that the examination of 11 thousand candidates out of 3.72 lakh candidates has been postponed till August 30 so that the examination centers can be adjusted in the cities of their choice.
He said that NTA has increased the capacity of the centers and added some more examination centres. He said that efforts are also being made to ensure the quality of the centres.
It is worth noting that in the second phase of CUET exam, the exam had to be canceled at many centers due to technical glitch.
The CUET UG 2022 exam will conclude on August 30 with the last, sixth phase of the entrance exam. The result will be released next month which can be checked by visiting cuet.samarth.ac.in.
