There are also modaks in all the indulgences that are dear to the Lord.Although many times people complain that modaks are not made properly at home, here we are telling some tricks that can be useful for you in making modaks.

Cook Jaggery and Coconut : While cooking coconut and jaggery together, it is important to cook it properly.It is necessary to cook it till all the extra moisture is gone and it starts drying. However, take special care that you do not overcook it.

use fresh coconut : Many times the preparations start a day in advance to avoid being late.While preparing, keep in mind that you always have to use fresh dried coconut.

Follow the right way to knead the dough : It is necessary to knead the dough properly for the modak. For this, a little more than 1 cup of water is usually needed to apply 1 cup of rice flour. If you keep the right proportion of the quantity, then the modaks made by you will turn out to be soft and tasty. At the same time, to make sure that the mixture is not cracked and not sticky, sprinkle some warm water for this and knead it again. It helps to give it a nice texture. If the dough is kneaded properly then the modaks will be soft and crack free.

Wet hands and make modaks : While making the modak by hand, dip your fingers in a bowl of water and then take a portion which is in the shape of a ball. Start making the dough by spreading it in circular motion with the help of thumb and forefinger of both the hands. On the other hand, if the dough is sticky then it is advisable to use ghee instead of water.
