use fresh coconut : Many times the preparations start a day in advance to avoid being late.While preparing, keep in mind that you always have to use fresh dried coconut.

Follow the right way to knead the dough : It is necessary to knead the dough properly for the modak. For this, a little more than 1 cup of water is usually needed to apply 1 cup of rice flour. If you keep the right proportion of the quantity, then the modaks made by you will turn out to be soft and tasty. At the same time, to make sure that the mixture is not cracked and not sticky, sprinkle some warm water for this and knead it again. It helps to give it a nice texture. Start making the dough by spreading it in circular motion with the help of thumb and forefinger of both the hands.
