Metro Rail travels towards HiTec City will be easing a little bit for scores of passengers commuting on the route with the Hyderabad Metro Rail announcing normal operations from Jubilee Hills Check Post starting Tuesday.

Managing Director N.V.S. Reddy said trains are being run for every 4 minutes unlike the 7-15 minutes earlier. He further added this would reduce the peak hour rush on the trains.

Trains frequency on Corridor 1 —Miyapur to L.B. Nagar — o has been increased to 5 minutes from about 6-7 minutes. With this about 60 additional trips (10 in Corridor 1 and 50 in Corridor 3) are to be run in addition to about 270 trips being taken up daily.

“We will run trains at this frequency for about two to three weeks, and once the operations stabilize, the frequency of trains will be further increased to three minutes after that, if required. We have also reduced the air-conditioning to 23 degrees C for better comfort of passengers,” said Mr. Reddy.

The increased frequency of trains became possible after the reversal facility commissioned beyond the metro station and the closer to the Trident Hotel.

This will enable trains to take a reverse after reaching the HiTec City station and enter into the platform number two after arriving on platform number one from Ameerpet/Jubilee Hills Check Post station.

Here to from March onwards, ever since the route towards HiTec City station was commissioned, metro rail authorities have been running trains on twin single-line system where trains are allowed on both tracks and return on the same side because of the lack of ‘reversal’ facility, about 600 metres viaduct towards the Raidurg terminal station or Mindspace junction.

L&T Metro Rail Hyderabad (L&TMRH) has completed the viaduct construction and overhead electric line up to Raidurg, 1.5 km from HiTec City station, and it will be last stop for Corridor 3 (From Nagole). However, the MD stated that the station work is still being done and it will be ready in all aspects next month only.
