Jharkhand CM inaugurates country’s first hospital dedicated for Ayushman Bharat Yojana in Jamshedpur

Chief Minister Raghubar Das on Tuesday inaugurated India’s pioneer hospital allowed for Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana beneficiaries named Tata Main Hospital (TMH) Golmuri in the Tinplate township. The existing Tinplate Hospital, the 30 bedded hospital, is situated. 24×7 facilities for orthopedic, general surgery, pediatric and critical care treatment at Tata Steel managed hospital will be given.

Das Stated,

“It is a day of achievement with the city getting country’s first hospital dedicated for beneficiaries of the Ayushman Bharat scheme. As per our plans, we want to cover 85 percent population of the state under the ambitious health insurance scheme benefitting 57 lakh families. As of now, we have issued 25 lakh golden cards which enables one to avail the benefit of the scheme. The government has now decided to issue golden cards free of cost to beneficiaries instead of the existing norm of charging Rs 30 from the beneficiaries,”.

Das informed,

“We have also decided to launch a special drive to make such golden cards for beneficiaries completely free from August 16 to mark the death anniversary of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, and this drive will continue till September 23, 2019, across the state. So far, 219 government hospitals and 429 private hospitals have been impaneled in the state under the scheme. In the state, more than 2 lakh patients have benefitted from the scheme,”.

The Chief Minister also stated of starting mohalla clinics for residents of urban slums. “We have decided to start mohalla clinics for residents of urban slums providing free primary health care. A special drive will be undertaken between August 16 and September 23 where doctors will be available for two hours each in morning and evening in all civic bodies. In Jamshedpur Notified Area Committee (Jamshedpur), Mango Notified Area Committee (Mango) and Jugsalai municipality existing community halls will be used as mohalla clinics,” stated Das.

The Chief Minister also hinted at early starting of the trauma center at Baharagora.

“We also have to recruit doctors for a trauma center at Baharagora, which will facilitate the starting of the trauma centers,’ continued Das.
