The Congress took a swipe at Prime Minister Narendra Modi over his numerous official visits to other countries on World Tourism Day by saying it must be fun setting off around the world.
“Wish PM Modi a Happy #WorldTourismDay. Must be fun jet setting around the world in that expensive plane of yours! Fly safe,” the party said in a tweet.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi is currently in Tokyo to attend former PM Shinzo Abe’s state funeral.
Ahead of the funeral, he held a bilateral meeting with PM Fumio Kishida. He then joined several global leaders to pay tribute to Abe.
World Tourism Day is observed on September 27 by the World Tourism Organization, responsible for the promotion of responsible, sustainable, and universally accessible tourism.
