Bihar political crisis : The uncertainty over the fate of Bihar’s NDA coalition government is all but over as chief minister and JD(U) leader Nitish Kumar has reportedly decided to snap ties with the BJP, amid reports of a tiff between the two parties.
Meanwhile, opposition parties such as the RJD and Congress are both expected to support the JD(U), which contested and won the 2015 assembly elections as member of the Mahagathbandhan, which also comprised of, among others, the RJD and Congress. In July 2017, Kumar left the Mahagathbandhan to join hands with the saffron party, and continued as chief minister.
In October-November 2020, the NDA government won assembly polls in the state.
