Chinese phone maker Realme has been focusing heavily on the Indian market with its aggressively priced smartphones that bring with them extraordinary specs. In its attempts to do so, the company has already introduced phones like the Realme X and Realme 3 Pro.

However, the phone creator is now looking to take things a notch higher by bringing to the market, the Realme 5 and Pro smartphones.

Realme 5, Realme 5 Pro: Expected price in India

This new series of devices are all set to begin today with the expected starting price to be below Rs 10,000.

Both the phones are quad-camera toting smartphones, and the company is marketing the more affordable Realme 5 as the first 48-megapixel Quad Camera smartphone under Rs 10,000. The Realme 5 series have been inclined to get two variants – Realme 5 and the Realme 5 Pro.

How to watch Realme 5 launch live stream

The launch event of the two phones can be viewed online. The company will be sharing the live stream of the event on its YouTube page.

For the Realme 5 Pro, the product page had gone live on realme.com, and the images show the Realme 5 Pro. The first image shows the launch time and date, which is August 20 at 12:30 PM. The second image shows that the Realme 5 Pro will be arriving with a Qualcomm Snapdragon chipset and VOOC fast charging. The third image shows that the 5 Pro will be getting a 48-megapixel Sony IMX586 sensor in a quad-camera system.

Realme 5, Realme 5 Pro possible specs and features

The two phones are being teased in leaks and rumors in the past few weeks. While much else is not known, a Geekbench listing has disclosed vital information about the Realme 5, including its specifications. As per the listing, the phone will feature a Snapdragon 665 paired with 4GB RAM. Besides, the device will run Android 9 Pie with ColorOS 6 on top.

According to the listing, the handset got 1,525 points in the single-core test and 5,498 in the multi-core tests.

Besides, the phone maker is expected to reveal a 64-megapixel lens phone in China very soon. The 64-megapixel shooter phone was initially affirmed in a tweet by CEO Madhav Sheth where he had taken a picture from the 64-megapixel Samsung GW1 sensor.

The Realme 5 has been fully showcased in a video teaser released by Flipkart. The Realme 5 can be seen sporting a waterdrop notch at the front with slightly thicker bezel at the bottom of the screen. The teaser video also shows four-camera setup at the back with the 48-megapixel primary lens with the branding of 48MP visible on the camera lens.
