Stopped from selling illegal liquor, woman kills DMK ward member in TN’s Sriperumbudur

After being stopped from selling illegal liquor, a woman killed a Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) ward member with a sharp weapon in Tamil Nadu’s Sriperumbudur. The police have launched a lookout for the absconding accused.

A 31-year-old Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) ward member was killed by a woman in Tamil Nadu’s Sriperumbudur after she was asked not to sell illegal liquor in wards.

The accused, identified as Lokeshwari aka Esther, used to purchase the liquor from the state-run TASMAC shops and sell it at her home, illegally.

The DMK ward member named Sathish filed a police complaint against Esther and stopped her from selling liquor in his wards.
The killer invited Sathish to her house for a conversation and killed him with a machete. She attacked him on his head and left his body outside her home, before escaping.

The neighbours informed the police, who retrieved the body and found a blood trail inside Esther’s home.
Somangalam Police have initiated an investigation and are on the lookout for Esther. Further details are awaited.
