A man killed his 8-month pregnant wife by slitting her throat with a knife in Morti village of Ghaziabad on Monday. Following this, he himself informed his in-laws about the murder and asked them to take the corpse.

VICTIM’S FAMILY ALLEGE DOWRY HARASSMENT
The accused, identified as Ankit, who used to work in a private company, had married Tanu on July 10, 2016. According to the family members of the deceased, things were not well between the couple for some time. Ankit and his parents used to harass Tanu for dowry, they said.
The family said that Tanu was not even allowed to use a mobile, and that they used to give her money for household expenses.
ACCUSED ARRESTED
Based on the complaint filed by the victim’s family, police registered a case. Subsequently, Ankit was arrested and the knife used in the murder was also recovered by the police.
