Air India airline is the flag carrier of India. It is posses by Air India Limited, a government-owned enterprise, and operates a fleet of Airbus and Boeing aircraft serving 94 domestic and international destinations. The airline has its axis at Indira Gandhi International Airport, New Delhi, alongside several focus cities across India. Air India is the biggest international carrier out of India with an 18.6% market share. Over 60 international destinations are assisting by Air India across four continents. In addition to this, the carrier is the third largest domestic airline in India in terms of passengers carried (after IndiGo and Jet Airways) with a market share of 13.5% as of July 2017. The Air India became the 27th member of Star Alliance on 11 July 2014.

Air India Air Transport Services Limited (AIATSL) is a fully possessed subsidiary of Air India Limited, formed with an aim to provide unified Ground Handling services (Ramp, Passenger & Baggage and Cargo Handling) at most of the airports in India under the brand name ‘Air India Airport Services’.

From the time the very first airplane took flight in India, till now, when Jumbos and Dreamliners rule the sky, Air India’s Ground Handling Department always existed, all under different names. What started off as a section for Ground Handling under Air India Engineering, come into a department called Ground Services Department with the induction B747 “jumbo” aircraft. With a view to bringing in focus on the core Ground Handling services, the Passenger, Cargo, and Ramp Handling activities have been brought together to form the Ground Handling subsidiary AIATSL.

With an experienced workforce of over forty years, sophisticated GSE, and Air India’s expertise of over 75 years in Aviation business, Air India Airport Services has endeavored to give excellent Ground Handling services at all times. While Ground Services Department of Air India was the first Ground Service giver to obtain ISO 9002 certification, its subsidiary AIATSL has further achieved IATA’s ISAGO Certification. With Ground Handling established at over 50 airports in India, Air India Airport Services is a One Stop Shop for the comprehensive range of GH services including Security, Flight Operations & Technical Handling services which will be provided through its parent company. Air India Airport Services with the experience and expertise, joined with a young and vibrant workforce is willing to take on any challenge.

Besides Narrow Body aircraft’s, which Air India Airport Services maintains at most of the airports in India, it has the capability to manage widebody aircraft’s at Mumbai (BOM), Chennai (MAA), Kolkata (CCU), Kochi (COK), Kozhikode (CCJ), Ahmedabad (AMD), Amritsar (ATQ), Lucknow (LKO), Guwahati (GAU) and Goa (GOI). From being the pioneer and only Ground Handler in India to handle the Airbus A380 on its maiden visit to India in 2007, to handle the futuristic 787 Dreamliners at major airports in India, Air India Airport Services is the Ground Handler for all your needs.
