Archaeological Survey of India (ASI)

ASI, The Archaeological Survey of India lies under the culture’s ministry. It is one of those organizations that are considered to be the premier for the researches on archaeology and the nation’s heritage and cultural protection. One of the major and worth mentioning concern of Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) is to maintain the ancient monuments as well as the sites of archaeology and the remains that have a great importance within the nation. Moreover, ASI also regulates the activities in India that are related to archaeology. There are two important acts of ASI that took place in the years 1958 and 1972.

For maintaining the ancient and antique monuments as well as the archaeological sites, there are twenty circles in which the country has been divided. There are a lot of trained and experienced archaeologists that are affiliated with ASI and they make a number of researches in the related field.
