Dr Ambedkar Institute of Productivity (AIP), National Productivity Council (NPC)


The Dr Ambedkar Institute of Productivity (AIP) is a training centre under the National Productivity Council (NPC) controlled by the ministry of industry under the government of India. The organization was established in 1963 as an industrial engineering training centre and was named as the Training Institute for Productivity and Industrial Engineering (TIPIE). It was renamed as the Dr Ambedkar Institute of Productivity (AIP) recently to absorb the managerial and technical areas of productivity improvements implemented by the NPC. The institute serves as the training centre for industrial engineering, energy and environmental management, plant engineering, HRD, TPM and TQM.

Moreover, the Institute acts as the director and controller of the national certification examination for energy managers and energy auditors.
