Heavy Water Board (HWB)

The Heavy Water Board is a subset of the Indian Atomic Energy Department and is in charge of the manufacture of heavy water, also known as D2O which is used in the nuclear reactors not only as a coolant but also as a moderator in both operating and non-functional power plants. India holds a distinction of being one of the largest producers of heavy water in the world and accomplishes this feat through about 7 heavy water plants situated around the country. The most important function of the website for the Heavy Water Board is perhaps the recruitment procedures that are informed to all those interested in joining the Board as workers and the applications that come with this voluntary act. The website also contains other guidelines, information about the set-up of the plants and their vision or missions for the near future.
