National Institute of Labour Economics Research and Development is a unique independent institution which was founded by India’s Government in 1962.

The National Institute of Labour Economics Research and Development (NILERD), which was initially known as Institute of Applied Manpower Research, was founded in 1962 by India’s Government. The institution which is located on Delhi’s outskirts can be easily accessed from any part of Delhi as it is located on a major national highway. The facilities available at the institution are world class and the 15-acre campus has a green plantation round it. India’s Government appoints the Institution’s Director General who has the rank of the Central Government’s Secretary. The institution admits students from every part of the world and has a hostel that can house 150 students. The institution also has an IT infrastructure that is top rated with 24 hours access to the computer laboratories.
