Kondagaon District, Chhattisgarh


Kondagaon district, Chattisgarh separated from the district named Bastar on 24th January 2012. It is known to be the 27th district of the state of Chattisgarh.
Kondagaon is situated at a height of about 1945 feet from the sea level. According to the census conducted by Indian Government in 2001, the population of Kondagaon hits 26,772. Over the years, it has increased by a few thousand people. The district has a high rate of literacy as compared to other districts in India. 64% of the people in Kondagaon are literate.
If you’re headed to Kondagaon, you should probably take the NH30 and hit the district from Jagdalpur, or Raipur. You can take a bus if you don’t have a car as there are a number of buses available for different routes.
Kondagaon is famously known for handicrafts and sculptures. It is also famous for timber mills like Mahesh traders, Ajanta Sawmills, etc.
