Malappuram District, Kerala

Malappuram is a district located in the state of Kerala, India. it is situated at the southern side of the state and is also known as Malappuram. The district covers an area of almost 33.61 square kilometers. In 1970, the first municipality of the district was established by the government of the state of Kerala. Malappuram is the headquarter of the district of Malappuram and bears all the major public and administrative offices of the city. It is subdivided into 40 different electoral wards. According to the census conducted by the central government of India in 2011, the population of Malappuram was almost 1698645 people. Almost 5390 people live in every square kilometer of the district.
The Malappuram Urban Agglomeration was known to be the fourth largest one in the whole state of Kerala. Malappuram bears all the basic infrastructure including educational institutes, hospitals, and other facilities.
