Mormugao Port Trust

The Maomugao Port Trust, Goa, which started operations in 1885 have since risen to a prosperous and dynamic harbor on India’s West Coast.

Mormugao Port, Goa is among the ports which are reputed to be the oldest on India’s west coast. The port which assumed the status of a major port on the 2nd of December 1963 is the first port that was used to export iron ore from India. It is estimated to have a traffic of about 50 million tonnes. The port which started on a small scale has since become a notable port in India contributing positively to the trade and industry exports and imports in India. Apart from ore cargoes which are exported from the port, traffic on bulk liquid and general cargo have also been increasing steadily. The port has high productivity, a workforce that is dedicated, a well-streamlined administration and world-class facilities.
