Principal Controller of Defence Accounts (Central Command), Lucknow was formed in 1976 as army office under the control of Accounts officer. It was responsible for the payments and allowances of the army men, MES and others at Allahabad, Lucknow, and Kanpur. In the year 1980, this office was upgraded as an area accounts office under the supervision of I.D.A.S officer. In May 1986 this office was converted into a full-fledged CDA office. Its functions and scope of work were also enhanced. Until 1989 this CDA (CC) office was under the control of CDA (CC) Meerut. In the year 1995, this office was converted into CDA (CC) Lucknow by amalgamating six PAO’s which were placed at Faizabad, Varanasi, Lucknow, and Fatehgarh. In July 2000 this office it was again upgraded to PCDA (CC). They aim to provide proper, efficient and correct accounting and payment services and ensure customer satisfaction of the public and civilians.
