Punjab State Council for Science and Technology

Punjab State Council for Science & Technology (PSCST) undertakes efforts using the technology, science, and innovation to develop rural areas of Punjab and to utilize the science and technology in everyday life of the people. It was established in the year 1983. PSCST has several divisions namely science, Biotechnology, Environment, Consultancy Cell and Intellectual Property Rights. It undertakes several programmes and projects for encouraging technology development and pollution control, energy efficiency, conservation and sustainable development, science communications, and socio-economic development. They also perform an energy audit and other such projects. The chief minister controls the PSCST. The council also takes up international projects and workshops. The council is also responsible for popularizing science and promoting rational and scientific outlook. It has developed a software to achieve success in spreading awareness and propagating science. The consultancy cell provides cost-effective solutions for capacity building and pollution control.
