RTI Online – RTI applications/First Appeals to Central Government Organisations

This is an online right to information portal. RTI applications or first appeals to central government organizations etc. can be submitted here. Online RTI status form is available. The user manual is also available.
RTI Online is a virtual platform initiated by the department of personnel and training, the government of India. Right to information act 2005 was passed to facilitate the timely response of citizens’ requests for information related to the government. In order to access RTI information system, to file RTI request or first appeal, to check RTI status and to become RTI activist the visitors of the website need to get registered on the website. It is prohibited to file applications against public authorities under state governments from this portal. Fee taken to file application/appeal can be paid through various methods including online banking or RuPay card. The website can be translated into the Hindi language for the sake of convenience. Users can view the status of their applications online.
