Madhya Pradesh Transport Department is a subsidiary of the government of the state of Madhya Pradesh. It is responsible for overseeing all the matters regarding transportation in the state and works under the authority of the 213th section of the 1988 Act of Motor Vehicles and the Madhya Pradesh Act of Taxation of Motor Vehicles 1924. The basic aim behind the establishment of the department was to effectively and efficiently enforce the said governmental acts and the rules listed in them. The Transport Commissioner is the chief in command of the department. The Deputy Commissioners of Transport assist the TC in all the related matters.
Madhya Pradesh Transport Department pays a notable contribution in the national treasure by generating a healthy revenue of more than 280 crore Indian Rupees every year. There are more than 1.5 million vehicles registered by the department. The workers are committed to providing their best to the country.
