Yashwantrao Chavan Academy of Development Administration (YASHADA) is an institute for administrative training of Maharashtra’s Government. The mission of the institute is to enhance sustainable and equitable development by promoting good governance which would be people-centered.
Yashwantrao Chavan Academy of Development Administration (YASHADA) was established in Mumbai in 1963. It was later renamed as Maharashtra Institute of Development Administration in 1984 and was registered under the 1860 Societies Registrations Act. In 1990, the institute was later renamed Yashwantrao Chavan Academy of Development Administration (YASHADA) after former Maharashtra’s Chief Minister and India’s Deputy Prime Minister, Late Shri Y B Chavan who was instrumental to the establishment of the Institute.
The mission of the institute which is to enable sustainable and equitable development by promoting good governance that is people oriented is achieved by joining appropriate technology, practical knowledge, applied research as well as innovative public administration training for organizations in the community and representatives of the people.
