Will deliver food, medicines to doorsteps, declares Yogi Adityanath

LUCKNOW: Minutes after PM Narendra Modi imposed a three-week nationwide lockdown, asking people not to cross the ‘laxman rekha’ of their homes, UP chief minister Yogi Adityanath said his government would deliver essential commodities like fruits, milk, vegetables and medicines at the doorstep in the cities across the state.
“We have arranged 10,000 vehicles, including 4,500 police response vehicles, 4,200 ambulan ces and other official vehicles, to ensure delivery of essential items. From Wednesday, these vehicles will carry vegetables, milk, fruits, medicines and other necessary items to all areas of cities in the state,” Yogi said, adding that no person should leave homes unless allowed by the administration of the concerned district.
The CM also directed officials in districts to form teams of young people for setting up community kitchens and deliver cooked food to those who do not have access to a kitchen or a mess.
